My ex was generally known as the nicest, friendliest, most supportive ‘always-there-in-crisis’ type of guy amongst all our friends. He still beat the shit out of me on a regular basis for 2 years. One time, when he was in particularly nasty mood he bruised 2 of my ribs and kicked me so hard, I had footprints on my spine for a week - and an hour later he was helping my brother move and joking to my Dad how ‘Michelle had too much to drink last night, so she’s at home sleeping it off’ . To this day, 10 years later, I have ex-‘friends’ who absolutely refuse to believe me, and insist he’s a good guy and I’m a vindictive bitch. Go. Fuck. Yourself.
